It feels like you're doing everything right but you're not getting your meeting recording. What the heck is going on?!

First, we're sorry - we know this can be frustrating. Second, this article will help!

Computer Recording (prev. Local Recording) is Off

The most common issue we see is that users do not have local recordings enabled in their Zoom instance. While we don't record locally on your device, we do require access to this specific recording method.

🚨 Important: You must enable TWO settings

  1. Ensure Computer recording is enabled

  2. Check the box next to, "Host can give meeting participants permission to record locally"

More info here.

After enabling local recording please refresh your app (click the three dots in the upper right corner and click refresh). Then try again by clicking "Recording Meeting". This time you should see an "Allow Recording" message after admitting our bot to your Zoom meeting. Click "Allow Recording".

Once in your room our app will verify it's recording with the "recording in progress..." card. Host your meeting and wait for us to send you a summary to review.

Accidentally Denied Recording Permissions

Another common issue we're seeing is that users will click "deny" instead of "allow recording" when letting our bot in. If you were quick to click deny don't stress. You can jump to the participant list and permission our bot with recording access. Click to the ambient meeting user profile, then click "Allow to Record Local Files". This will give our app the access it needs to record and generate your summary.

Meeting Passcode Must be Embedded in the Invite Link

Sometimes your meetings may require participants to enter a passcode. Meeting bots are unable to manually input a passcode to join, the solution is to embed the meeting passcode into the invite URL.

To enable Embed passcode in invite link for one-click join for all users in the account:

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal as an admin with the privilege to edit account settings.

  2. In the navigation panel, click Account Management then Account Settings.

  3. Click the Meeting tab.

  4. Under Security, verify that Embed passcode in invite link for one-click join is enabled.

  5. If the setting is disabled, click the toggle to enable it. If a verification dialog appears, click Turn On to verify the change.
