twine makes it easy for Zoom hosts to create connection by enabling advanced breakout rooms and speed networking.

Zoom breakout rooms are an excellent tool for breaking up large groups of attendees into smaller groups to allow for more interactive conversations. twine's Speed Networking mode takes all the manual work out of creating and moving people between breakout rooms.

As a host, you can control the size of the groups and the length of the conversations. Once a round is complete, twine for Zoom automatically shuffles participants into the next round of conversations.

How to Setup & Run Speed Networking Mode:

  1. Select any participants from your participant list that you wish to exclude from the matchmaking. Participants will remain excluded until you re-include them.

  2. From the home screen, click "Create a Breakout"

  3. Select "Speed Networking" from the left hand menu

  4. On this next screen, input your Speed Networking settings and click "Save" to save your breakout settings as a template or "Launch" to start the breakout rooms.

    • Round timer: How long you want each round to last

    • Group size: How many people do you want in each group

  5. When you click "Launch", all of your participants are automatically placed into rounds of conversations based on your settings and a countdown timer will appear. Once the round ends, participants are placed in another round of speed networking.

These rounds will continue until you click "End Matchmaking" and bring everyone back to the main room.

  6. If you want to share a custom icebreaker question, a suggested list of topics, or notes to participants while they are in the breakout rooms, you can use Zoom's "Share to Breakout Rooms" function to do so. To do this, click "Share Screen" when the breakout rooms open, select the screen you'd like to share and click the "Share to breakout rooms".

πŸ’‘ PRO TIP: Speed Networking mode works for everyone in your meeting, regardless of whether or not they are in the app. However, participants without the app will not see the countdown timer so the transition between rounds can be unexpected for them. We recommend using the Zoom's "Broadcast Message to All" to let all attendees know when there is 30 seconds left in each round.
